Vanilla frosting, cracked pepper and a cool mint finish. Wedding Cake meets Kush Mints in a dense, purple-flushed indica-dominant plant that wraps up in 8-10 weeks.
In stock. Order before 1pm CT and it ships today.
LA Kush Cake was bred in Los Angeles by pairing two of the most used parents of the last decade: Wedding Cake and Kush Mints. Both lines share a common grandparent in Animal Mints, so this cross folds a family back on itself and locks in the traits growers chase most, namely density, frost and a sweet, bakery-style nose.
Wedding Cake supplies the vanilla batter flavor and the thick, rounded bud structure. Kush Mints adds a cooling mint top note, a peppery bite and strong branching vigor. Together they make a stout, bushy plant with chunky colas that often blush lavender and violet under a heavy coat of resin, especially when night temperatures dip in late flower.
The feminized seeds run fairly uniform, with most phenotypes landing on the same vanilla-and-pepper profile. Every seed is bred to grow into a female plant, so your tent space goes to flower rather than to sorting out males.
People commonly describe a mellow, mood-brightening start that slowly gives way to deep body relaxation. It is usually saved for the evening.
A gentle, happy shift in mood that softens the edges of the day.
Relaxation spreads through the shoulders and limbs and settles in.
Many users report a calm, faintly sleepy finish best suited to a quiet night.
With reported THC up to 28%, go slow if you are new to strong indica-leaning strains. Dry mouth and dry eyes are the most common complaints, and some people feel anxious or lightheaded at high doses. These are general reports, not medical guidance.
Open a jar and the first thing you get is sweet vanilla cake, followed by cracked black pepper and a cool hint of mint on the exhale. The smell builds sharply in the last three weeks of bloom, so run a carbon filter.
Gives the smoke its peppery, kushy backbone.
LimoneneSweet citrus, frostingBrightens the sugary, cake-like top notes.
LinaloolLavender, floralAdds a soft floral sweetness that rounds out the vanilla.
Hang branches for 10-14 days at about 60°F and 60% humidity, then cure in sealed jars for three weeks or more. A slow cure is what turns the vanilla note from faint to obvious.
Rated moderate. The plant is sturdy and forgiving in veg; the real work is airflow and humidity control once its fat colas start packing on weight.
LA Kush Cake suits a 3×3 or 4×4 ft tent. It usually tops out at 3 to 4 feet indoors and grows wide rather than tall, with thick side branches that hold their own weight well into flower. A moderate rating means a grower with one or two runs behind them will be comfortable here.
Because the frame is naturally bushy, topping twice and pulling the branches outward with low-stress training gives you an even, flat canopy of eight or more main tops. Lollipopping the lower third just before the flip sends energy to the sites that get full light and improves airflow at the base.
Run a medium-strength feed. Like most Wedding Cake descendants, it can show tip burn if nitrogen stays high past the third week of bloom, so shift toward phosphorus and potassium early. A cal-mag supplement helps under LED lighting.
Most plants are ready 8 to 10 weeks after the flip. Check the trichomes with a loupe: milky heads with a light sprinkle of amber give the classic heavy, relaxing finish this strain is known for.

As its name hints, LA Kush Cake is happiest in Southern California-style weather: warm days, low humidity and a long, dry autumn. In open ground it reaches about 5 to 6 feet and is usually ready to harvest in mid October. Move plants outside only after the last spring frost, when nighttime lows stay above 50°F.
Its weak spot outdoors is wet weather near the finish line. The rounded, tightly packed buds can hold water for hours after a storm, which is how mold gets started. Strip some interior fan leaves for airflow, stake the heaviest branches before they bend, and if a run of rainy days shows up in October, cut a little early rather than gamble. The outdoor planting guide lists start dates by USDA zone.
Home growing rules differ from state to state, including plant counts and whether it is allowed at all. Review marijuana laws by state before you plant.
Dry, sunny autumns let the dense colas ripen fully with little mold risk.
Low humidity suits it, but a mid October finish can run into early frost at altitude.
Workable with an on-time start, though fall rain often arrives right as buds finish.
Damp late seasons raise rot risk, so a greenhouse or cover is a smart backup.
Sticky humidity and fall storms work against its tight, heavy buds.
LA Kush Cake is an indica-dominant hybrid. It grows short and bushy, and its effects lean toward calm body relaxation after a light, happy start.
Our supplier reports THC in the 22-28% range. Actual numbers shift with phenotype, environment and harvest timing, so treat that range as a guide rather than a promise.
Plan on 8 to 10 weeks of bloom after switching your lights to 12/12. Outdoor plants in most of the US are ready around mid October.
A well-tuned indoor grow can produce about 1.5 to 1.8 ounces per square foot. Outdoors, a healthy plant in full sun can return roughly 18 to 25 ounces.
It is rated moderate. The plant is sturdy and easy to train, but newer growers should be ready to manage humidity closely in late bloom, since the buds are very dense.
Sweet vanilla cake leads, with cracked pepper in the middle and a cool mint note on the finish. Caryophyllene, limonene and linalool are the terpenes most often linked to that profile.
Outdoors, it does best in inland California and the Southwest, where autumns stay warm and dry. In humid regions like the Southeast, an indoor grow or greenhouse is the safer choice.
Wedding Cake is one of its parents. Crossing it with Kush Mints adds a minty, peppery layer to the vanilla, a stockier frame and a stronger tendency to turn purple when nights are cool.
