Sunset Sherbet was bred in the San Francisco Bay Area as part of the wave of Cookies-family strains that reshaped California flower. It is most widely documented as a cross of Girl Scout Cookies and Pink Panties, and it later became a parent in its own right, passing its sherbet sweetness into a long line of dessert-style hybrids.
Girl Scout Cookies gives the plant its compact frame, dense, resin-coated buds and much of its strength. Pink Panties adds a fruity, candy-like sweetness and a more layered terpene profile. The result smells like a scoop of berry and citrus sorbet with a creamy, slightly earthy undertone, and it often shows purple and orange hues when nights cool late in flower.
It grows short and bushy, with broad leaves and tight internodes, which makes it a natural fit for small tents. These feminized seeds are bred to produce female plants, so every seed you pop is aimed at harvestable flower.
Consumers commonly describe a cheerful, clear start that settles into easy full-body calm while staying functional. Effects usually last two to three hours.
A sunny mood boost with the head still feeling clear.
A warm, relaxed feeling spreads through the body without heavy sedation.
Many people report a mellow, content finish suited to evenings.
Reported THC of 18-24%: newer consumers should still start small. Commonly reported downsides include dry mouth and dry eyes, and at high doses some people report anxiety or grogginess. General reports, not medical guidance.
Sweet berry and orange zest on top, a smooth, creamy middle and an earthy, lightly peppery finish from the Cookies side. It is fragrant rather than skunky, but still loud enough in late flower to need a carbon filter.
The spicy, earthy backbone inherited from the Cookies line.
LimoneneOrange, lemonBrightens the fruity sorbet notes.
HumuleneWoody, herbalAdds a dry, earthy edge to the sweet profile.
Harvest before the leaves fade too far and dry slowly at about 60°F and 60% humidity. A cure of three to four weeks in sealed jars brings out the creamy sherbet note.
Rated moderate. The plant stays small and manageable; most of the work is opening up its dense canopy and holding humidity down late in flower.
Sunset Sherbet is one of the easier Cookies-family strains to fit into a small space. Indoors it usually tops out at 2 to 4 feet, which works in a 2×4 or 3×3 ft tent, and it stretches only modestly after the flip. Its bushy, indica-leaning structure does mean a crowded interior, so plan to thin it out.
Top once around the fourth or fifth node, then use low-stress training to pull branches outward and flatten the canopy. Before the flip and again near week three of flower, lollipop the lower third of the plant. Those shaded sites rarely fill out, and removing them sends energy to the tops.
Around 500-700 PPFD in veg and 700-900 PPFD in flower is plenty for this compact plant. Feed at a moderate strength and back off nitrogen once buds start stacking. A cal-mag supplement helps under LED lighting.
Most plants finish 8 to 9 weeks after the switch to 12/12. Check trichomes with a loupe: mostly cloudy keeps the effect upbeat, while a share of amber heads tilts it toward a calmer, heavier feel.
A typical indoor run for a compact plant. Veg time is flexible; flowering is set by the genetics.

Outdoors, Sunset Sherbet grows into a 5 to 8 foot bush and is usually ready between late September and mid October. That fairly early window gives growers in many northern states a real chance at a full harvest. Set plants out after the last spring frost, once nights stay above about 50°F.
It does best with steady, mild temperatures in the 70s and a dry finish. The weak spot is moisture: its tight, resinous buds can trap water after rain or heavy morning dew. Prune the lower branches, give each plant room to breathe and be ready to cover or harvest early if a wet stretch is forecast. Our outdoor planting guide breaks timing down by USDA zone.
Look up your local rules before planting. Home growing is legal for adults in some states but not others, and plant limits differ. See marijuana laws by state.
Mild, dry falls let the dense buds ripen with little mold risk.
Low humidity suits it and the late September window beats most frosts.
An early finish helps it come down before cold October rain.
Humid late summers push mold risk up, so thin the canopy well.
Heat is manageable but the humidity is hard on tight buds.
Sunset Sherbet is an indica-dominant hybrid, often described as about 85% indica and 15% sativa. It grows short and bushy, and its effects lean toward relaxation with a clear, cheerful start.
Our supplier reports THC of 18-24%. That is solidly potent but more approachable than the strongest dessert strains, and actual numbers vary with phenotype, environment and harvest timing.
Indoors, most plants finish 8 to 9 weeks after the switch to 12/12. Outdoors in the US, expect a harvest between late September and mid October.
Indoors, an even, well-lit canopy can produce roughly 1.5 to 1.6 ounces per square foot. Outdoor plants in full sun can produce roughly 18 to 21 ounces each.
It is rated moderate. Its small size makes it easy to manage, but beginners should prune the lower growth and watch late-flower humidity closely, since the dense buds are prone to mold.
It smells like berry and citrus sorbet with a creamy middle and an earthy, peppery finish. Caryophyllene, limonene and humulene are the terpenes most often reported.
Outdoors it does best in inland California, the Southwest and the dry valleys of Colorado and Utah. Its early finish also gives the Midwest a good shot, while humid regions should prioritize airflow or grow indoors.
It is most widely documented as Girl Scout Cookies crossed with Pink Panties. The Cookies side brings structure and strength, while Pink Panties adds the fruity sweetness the strain is named for.
