Mac 1, short for Miracle Alien Cookies, was bred in Southern California in the 2010s and spent years as a hard-to-find clone before seed versions appeared. Its striking looks and balanced high turned it into one of the most requested hybrids on the West Coast.
The pairing behind it is simple on paper. Alien Cookies contributes the sweet, earthy dessert side, dense structure and a heavy layer of frost. Miracle 15, itself built from Colombian and Starfighter genetics, brings vigorous growth, extra resin and the bright, citrusy lift. The mix lands close to an even split between indica and sativa, with the sativa side showing in its energetic early hours.
Plants stretch upward with strong side branching early on, then settle into tight, weighty flowers that trim cleanly. Cured buds are pale with resin and threaded with orange pistils, a look that stands out in any jar. These feminized seeds are bred to grow female plants, so every seed you pop is working toward flower.
Mac 1 is commonly described as a clear, upbeat start with sharp focus that gradually eases into a calm, comfortable body feel. Effects usually run around two to three hours.
A bright, alert mood with a noticeable sense of focus.
Energy stays steady while the body starts to loosen up.
A relaxed, content finish without a heavy crash for most people.
Reported THC of 20-24% is plenty for most people, so start low and go slow. Dry mouth and dry eyes are the most common complaints, and higher doses can bring anxiety or a racing feeling in some people. General reports, not medical guidance.
Fresh citrus peel hits first, then a sweet, creamy cookie note and an earthy, faintly diesel undertone. It gets pungent in the last weeks of bloom, so plan on carbon filtration.
Drives the bright orange-peel top note.
PinenePine, fresh herbsAdds a crisp, clean edge to the citrus.
CaryophyllenePepper, dieselGrounds the profile with an earthy, spicy base.
Dry slowly near 60°F and 60% humidity, then cure in jars for at least two weeks. A gentle cure keeps the citrus from fading into plain earthiness.
Rated moderate. Mac 1 grows vigorously, but phenotypes can vary and its tight flowers need steady humidity control in late bloom.
Indoors, Mac 1 usually lands between 3 and 5 feet. The sativa side shows up as early vigor and a noticeable stretch after the flip, so plan your veg time around the height your tent allows.
Give it 600-800 PPFD in late veg and 800-1,000 PPFD in flower under LED. Topping once and filling a SCROG net is the easiest way to manage the flowering stretch and turn its many side branches into even, productive tops.
Expect some variation between plants, which is common for this cross. Keep a moderate feed with consistent cal-mag under LED, and watch for any plant that lags behind in vigor so you can give it extra space or veg time.
Most plants finish 8 to 9 weeks after the switch to 12/12. Use trichomes to decide: mostly cloudy heads keep the effect bright and focused, while a little amber softens it.
A typical indoor run. Veg length is flexible; bloom time comes from the genetics.

Mac 1 enjoys Mediterranean-style weather outdoors: warm days around 70-80°F, dry air and plenty of sun. Plants can reach 5 to 7 feet and usually finish from early to mid October. Put them in the ground after your last frost, once nights stay above about 50°F.
Tall, branchy plants carrying heavy flowers benefit from stakes or a trellis before late summer winds arrive. Late-season rain is the bigger worry, since the tight buds dry slowly, so thin the interior and harvest promptly if a wet week is forecast. Our outdoor planting guide covers timing for each USDA zone.
Home-grow laws differ widely, from plant limits to whether cultivation is allowed at all. Check marijuana laws by state first.
Warm, dry Mediterranean weather is where it performs best outdoors.
Sunny and dry, though a mid-October finish can meet early frost.
October rain and cold can arrive before the buds are done.
Short, damp autumns call for a greenhouse or an indoor start.
Plenty of heat, but humid air raises mold risk in tight buds.
Mac 1 is a hybrid that sits close to an even split, leaning slightly sativa. It grows with sativa-style vigor and stretch, while its effects start clear and focused before turning calm.
Our supplier reports THC of 20-24%. That is strong without being extreme, but results still vary with phenotype, growing conditions and when you harvest.
Indoors, expect 8 to 9 weeks of bloom after switching to 12/12. Outdoor plants in the US are usually ready from early to mid October.
A trained indoor canopy can produce about 1.5 to 1.8 ounces per square foot. Outdoors, healthy plants in full sun commonly give roughly 18 to 21 ounces each.
It is rated moderate. The plants are vigorous, but phenotype variation and a noticeable stretch mean it suits growers who are comfortable with basic training and humidity control.
Citrus peel and sweet cream lead, backed by earthy and light diesel notes. Limonene, pinene and caryophyllene are the terpenes most commonly reported.
It prefers warm, dry, Mediterranean-style weather, so inland California and the Southwest are the best outdoor fits. In wetter or colder regions, a greenhouse or indoor grow gives more reliable results.
Mac is short for Miracle Alien Cookies, which describes the cross of Miracle 15 and Alien Cookies. The 1 refers to the original selected cut that the strain is known for.
