Strain Finder
Answer a few questions about your setup and preferences to see which seed types and strains fit you best.
How to choose a strain
1. Your experience
First grow? Choose autoflower or feminized seeds rated easy, ideally with mold resistance and flowering of 9 weeks or less. Experienced growers can take on long-flowering sativas, heavy feeders or strains that reward hard training.
2. Your space
Measure height, not just floor area. Subtract about 2 ft (60 cm) for the pot and the light, and what’s left is your plant’s limit. Photoperiods can double in height after the flip, so tents under 5 ft (1.5 m) tall suit autoflowers or compact indica-leaning strains.
3. Your climate
Outdoors, your first fall frost and autumn humidity set the rules. Short northern seasons favor autoflowers and fast flowering strains. Humid regions need mold-resistant genetics. Long, warm seasons open the door to big sativas. Find your state on our state hub for local notes.
4. The effect you prefer
Consumers commonly describe indica-leaning strains as relaxing and sativa-leaning strains as energetic, with hybrids in between. Terpenes and the balance of THC to CBD shape the experience too. For something milder, look at CBD and balanced strains.
5. Flowering time
Count back from when you want to harvest. Autoflowers run about 8 to 12 weeks from seed. Photoperiods add 7 to 12 weeks of flowering to however long you veg. The harvest date calculator turns that into a date.

Strain finder FAQ
What is the best strain for a first-time grower?
Should I choose a strain by THC percentage?
Not by THC alone. THC listings are ranges, and your growing conditions affect the final number. Terpenes, the CBD balance and your own tolerance shape the experience as much. For growing success, height, flowering time and climate fit matter far more than a few points of THC.
Can I grow two different strains together?
Yes, if they share a seed type and similar flowering times. Pair autoflowers with autoflowers, and photoperiods whose flowering times fall within about a week of each other. Plants of different heights can be leveled with low-stress training.
Which strains grow best outdoors in a cold climate?
Choose autoflowers or photoperiods that finish in 8 weeks or less, usually indica-leaning genetics. They can come down in September, before frost and heavy fall rain. Mold resistance matters too, since cold nights and damp days often arrive together late in the season.
Does indica or sativa really predict the effect?
Only loosely. The labels reliably describe plant shape and growth habit, but effects depend on each strain's mix of cannabinoids and terpenes, and on the person. Use indica and sativa as a starting point, then read the effects and terpene notes on each spec sheet.
Still deciding? Try a few at once
Mix packs let you grow several strains side by side and keep the one that suits you best.
